Ben Stiller’s new comedy about life in the modeling world that surrounds around a male model whose inner voice is going through some rough times; this man’s name is Derek Zoolander. Ben Stiller plays Derek who is a very innocent and caring human being “who wouldn’t hurt a fly”. Derek is the premier model in the industry but it all changes when his life goes downhill after losing his best friends in a gasoline fight freak accident and when after losing a VH1 Fashion Award Male Model of the Year to his arch nemesis, Hansel (Owen Wilson). Hansel has to be my favorite character other than Derek. Owen Wilson gives a comedic performance that can be compared to Dana Carvey in Waynes World. Hansel is a chiseled face model whose new age qualities include psychedelic embellishment and “smoking peyote for six days straight.”

These are only a few continuances, which add up to pointless but undeniably funny dialogue that can remind you of a Saturday Night Live skit, not film. There are a few moments in the film where the humor dies down and all you want to do is hear something remotely funny. This goes away shortly after a moment, when it does, be expected to laugh. Most of the outtakes are so stupid and mindless that you have to laugh.

In all of respect to Ben Stiller, who I admire for his great acting abilities in the comedy field, better luck next time. You will always be the one to make me laugh, cry, and feel bad when you get cured after having a little difficulties with your zipper.-
